BMC Brewing

All our beers are made on site at our brewery and taproom in Pittsboro with ultra-purified reverse osmosis water, which allows better batch-to-batch consistency of our beers. We source ingredients as locally as possible, using grains from Epiphany Craft Malt in Durham, hops grown at Bee Hoppy Farms in Chatham County, pumpkins or sweet potatoes grown on site by Copeland Springs Kitchen & Farm, or coffee roasted on site by Vortex Roasters. We are all about sustainability and community, using as much solar power as possible to run the brewery and taproom and process spent grains into flour to make our delicious cookies. Why cookies? As Bite My Cookies Brewing Company, we’ve been making cookies from spent grain for several years, and it gives us a fun story (and cookies) to share with customers. We want to support our community by partnering with local non-profits and creating and maintaining jobs filled by folks who love craft beer and enjoy helping customers discover new styles of beer. 2021-07 Member Update

Hillsboro Street businesses that opened Sunday, July 4th took advantage of the visitors to the PBA Summer Fest event in Pittsboro on Salisbury and Hanks Streets. Music from the Dowdy Boys (a set of 9 songs!) and 8-Track Minds (30! songs) was wonderful and got a lot of the attendees up, out of their chairs, and dancing! For the kids, there was a water slide, dunking booth, corn hole, other games and balloon animals! There were a total of 26 vendor booths, including 10 food/drink/treats vendors. I spoke with a half dozen vendors at the end of the event and they were very pleased with the turn out and this opportunity to connect with the visitors and turn them into customers. The blueberry fruit pie was the pie contest winner! If you missed participating, you missed a great time and wonderful event.

Ric’s Leather

Handcrafted items are one of a kind, made for YOU, personalized, and convey a special meaning to those receiving them. You’ll find a few stock items at Ric’s Leather, but largely I work on a custom basis. Even a stock design can and should be personalized! Let me make that special leather item for you, a friend or a loved one. Ric’s Leather Hours By appointment Email Email Ric’s Leather Phone 918-704-7900 A note from a post on the Pittsboro Business Association’s FB page that ran on June 14, 2020: A quick note to introduce myself. I’m Ric Harber, the “Ric” of Ric’s Leather & Engraving. My wife and I moved to Chatham County in January of this year. I’m retired from the federal government where I worked as an economist. When I retired, I turned my hobby into a business in Tulsa, Oklahoma. With the move here, I brought my leather-working tools and laser engraver with me. While I don’t have a storefront, I am working and would love to be of service. Laser engravers allow me to engrave or mark a wide variety of substrates which makes them fantastic for personalizing products or promotional materials. For example, any of the beverage cups that keep your drinks warm or cold for extended periods make an excellent canvas for a name or logo. Custom leatherwork means tell me what you want and I can probably make it for you. Belts, wallets, purses, koozies, coffee cup sleeves, plague masks, and even toilet seat toppers. So please check out my work at my website www.ricsleather.com or on Ric’s Leather & Engraving. I look forward to seeing folks at “First Sunday” once it is allowed to happen. Stay safe and stay happy.   Save
