Chatham Drug-Free
George Greger-Holt is the Chatham Drug Free Community Outreach Coordinator. He enumerated the programs and initiatives of Chatham Drug Free:
- Safe Houses: keep prescription medications locked up. Young can ingest them, older ones want to sell them. Keep a week’s worth out (very noticeable if some are missing) and the rest locked up. Garman Homes building in Chatham Park will be installing lockable medication cabinets as a standard feature. Any home can have one, email George!
- Safe Stores: all sales staff trained to ID to keep those underage from purchasing alcohol and tobacco.
- Social media campaign about the dangers of prescription opioid use and abuse.
- School Programs: Project Graduation, the after graduation ceremony party (on hold for COVID) and Be Kind Leave No One Behind – a Good Sameritan education program to teach about the lack of repercussions to calling 911 when you need to.
- Helped purchase the Sheriff’s Distracted Driving Golf Cart
If you would like to know more go here http://chathamdrugfree.org or email George at ggregerholt@gmail.com if you’re interested in getting on the Chatham Drug Free mailing list, which includes minutes from the monthly meeting and an occasional forward of information of interest.
Thanks George to help us understand what’s going on in the Community!
