- Holly Days has ~13 folks on the committee but is looking for a few volunteers for some specific tasks, like wrapping on Small Business Saturday. Contact Maria.
- Pittsbro’ continues to be planned. An event for last minute shoppers to shop for their significant other.
Our Speaker was Mike from East Wind Consulting
Mike, a new small business, with East Wind Consulting, talked to us about having a plan for an active shooter in our businesses/churches/etc. He reiterated: First! you have to believe it can happen, Then you can make a plan. He can help you do both. After his presentation we had a lively conversation. You should have been there.
Who was there….
- The wonderful coffee service at the meeting is from the folks at 39 West Catering who get up early to help us get up early! The coffee is VERY welcome! Thanks!
- Maria Parker-Lewis, VP PBA Board and Event Committee – The Sycamore has Wednesday evening Live Jazz. Thursdays are $10 lounge menu. Monday, Nov 6th The NC Revelers Orchestra will be at Forest Hall, included in the evening is a buffet-style dinner and as much dancing as you can enjoy!
- Melissa Crane, Chatham Magazine, advertising asked everyone to PLEASE take pictures of events and send them to her!! They really want to cover Chatham and all the events, but they need our help! Morgan Westin (morgan.weston@trianglemediapartners.com) is the editor to keep posted about happenings.
- Karen Tiede – Hoops and Balloons and PBA Website – please get your business events to her so she can put them on the shoppittsboro.com website!! Hoops and Balloons was at the evening Wake Up Wendnesday event. Why weren’t you there with ~100 others?
- Cary from CMCK Media, will be at the Death Faire at the Plant with a video booth to record memories. Join them, enjoy the Faire, and record your memories!
- JA Farrell, Pittsboro Commissioner, said the park in the City lot across from City Tap and Postal Fish will have a stage in the spring. Town is currently short staffed in the Planning Dept. but getting along. The sewer transition to Sanford is proceeding. (Chatham Park has their own sewer plant.). The PBO GAC water filter is taking care of the PFAS and PFOA.
- Phillip Pappas, Chatham County Small Business Center, reviewed the SBC spring offerings, and is planning to partner with Campbell on an MBA program and with Fayetteville State for government contracting. The SBC will be doing Next Level at 79 West. SBC will also be having a class on how to sell on Amazon.
- Jennie Knowlton, the Quiltmaker Cafe, There will be a food truck in the Ace Parking Lot Wednesday Oct 25th sponsored by the Quiltmaker Cafe.
- Cindy Schmidt, Chatham County Historical Association & Museum, PBA Membership. The first Annual Spirit Tour sold out in 6 days! We’re planning on more days next year! The next program will be about the Stedman family and the disinterment and reinterment of 9 of them! It will be on First Sunday, Nov 2nd at 2 pm in the Historic Courthouse and free as always.
