The public is invited to join the Chatham Community Library for a three-part virtual lecture series chronicling the history of communities of color in Chatham County.
The series will conclude with a much-anticipated lecture titled “From Slavery to Freedom: A History of African Americans in Chatham County” on Saturday, June 19th from 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. This lecture, by Charles Johnson, Associate Professor and Director of Public History at North Carolina Central University, is also part of Juneteenth Celebrations in Chatham County.
All lectures will occur virtually, and pre-registration is required to access the login information.
