Liquidambar Featured Artists’ Reception November

On Sunday, November 4, there will be a reception from 2:00-4:00 pm for our Featured Artists, Leslie Palmer and Judith Maier. Everyone is invited!!!

Leslie Palmer: I have been drawing since I was a small child. I thought there was magic in being able to make something appear on paper.  I’m not sure if it was that sense of power, the joy of creation or the quiet contentment I felt while drawing… but whatever it was, I dearly loved my pencils.

Leslie is exhibiting works in pencil, ink, and watercolor.

Judith writes: As a young child I grew up in Brooklyn. My family frequently visited my Grandmother Rosie who lived in a tiny ivy covered cottage in Brighton Beach, just blocks away from Coney Island. There I explored the ocean, the boardwalk, amusement park rides and Friday night fireworks. It was a magical. The cornucopia of colors, faces, music, and exhilarating rides fascinated me. Along with my love of fairytales, puppet shows, the ballet and circuses these experiences stirred my imagination and inspired my sculptural work today. For me, my figures have a life of their own and making them gives me great joy. I want to share this with the viewer and spark their imagination, enabling them to have a personal, enchanted relationship with these companions.
