Beautiful pastels by more than a dozen of Kim Werfel's students will adorn the walls of Liquidambar Gallery and Gifts in downtown Pittsboro throughout June & July. The opening reception is on June 4th from 2-4pm, in coordination with Pittsboro’s 1st Sunday event, with a second reception on July 2. Everyone's invited!

Our July feature will be Nancy L. Smith with her opening reception for "Nature's Way" - a celebration of watermedia and collage painting, 2 - 4pm at the Joyful Jewel.

Hewitt Pottery Summer Kiln Opening! August 26 & 27 and September 2 & 3 Saturday 9am – 5pm Sunday noon – 5pm This will be Firing 97 of the salt kiln, filled with pots of all sizes made by Mark and his apprentices, Hamish Jackson and Stillman Browning-Howe. Please join us for a Featured Artist's Reception Sunday, September 3, 2-4pm. Carol Kroll creates one-of-a-kind contemporary mixed media sculpture & fine craft. She says, "Living close to nature, I find inspiration all around me. I am intrigued by natures’ recurrent fractal patterns; the repetition of color, texture and form recurring throughout nature from the micro to the macro. I see this as a reflection of our inherent interconnection with all of life. My work celebrates the beauty and wonder of natures’ design and honors her resilience as well as her fragility." Every year I schedule myself (Kitty Mecham) to be a "Featured Artist". By doing this it makes me produce a body of work. It also forces me to get into my studio where I love to be when I am not running the gallery. This show is all "Portraits", but most are just images from my head. These pieces are more about what the person stands for, is trying to convey, or just an attitude, and not who is the person is. Also, we have the lovely Alice Osborne to entertain us during the reception!

Two of our favorite musicians and songwriters will be playing at the Joyful Jewel on Oct. 1, 2 - 4pm: Joe Woodson and DG Chandler. Songwriters Joe Woodson & Don Chandler will be at the Joyful Jewel on October 1, 2017.

Art Opening on First Sunday and then Ongoing through the end of October: Featured for the month of October is acrylic painter extraordinaire, Adrienne Knowles. Her intriguing theme is "Interpretations" and you can meet her at her opening reception, the 1st Sunday in October - October 1, 3 - 5pm. Adrienne Knowles is the featured artist at the Joyful Jewel in October, 2017.
