PBOh! Homecoming
The Town of Pittsboro is excited to share that we are hosting a new event on November 18 from 12-3pm. PBOh! Homecoming 2023 will be held in the parking lot located at 50 West Salisbury Street, besides Gunn & Messick Law Office. Join us for the first annual PBOh! Homecoming as we celebrate our town! Enjoy food trucks, local music, crafts, fun and games for the whole family while you learn about things new and old that PBO has to offer. We’ll unveil mural installations and preview plans for a Pop-Up Park that will serve as a new central gathering space for all. You’ll leave with information on events of the season, how to engage with your community and a new appreciation for the place we call home. If you are an artist, work with a local art gallery/organization, or if you work with a local community organization and would like to have a table at this event, please contact Downtown Director, Theresa Thompson at 919-819-0096. Twice a year fire over 1500+ pots in our massive wood kiln and invite everyone to visit the pottery for a Kiln Opening! It’s a great chance to tour the pottery workshop, walk inside the massive kilns, and shop in our large barn/gallery/showroom for beautiful pottery for yourself or for the perfect gift. The shelves are full of beautiful mugs, tumblers, plates and bowls, elegant vases, pitchers, lidded jars, serving bowls, large platters and planters ~ all made by master potter, Mark Hewitt, and his current intern. All the pots are stamped with the firing number. This will be Firing ‘110’ so the pots will be stamped 110 and the stamp of the potter who made them. Most of the pots have been made by master potter, Mark Hewitt and a small selection have been made by Mark’s intern, Paul. Mark’s selection of ‘Big Pots’ – life-sized vases and jars – are also on display. Families are always welcome. We have swings!
