National Mead Day

And we’re celebrating too! For the occasion, we’ve got some fun things in store for you! - The release of our very first “session mead”. A lower alcohol, very drinkable mead on tap by the glass. Our first one is a (currently unnamed) lime and ginger “Mule”. We’ve got ideas for some other flavors yet to come too! Come out and try it! - Mead making demo at 4 pm. Join Ben to see how to make a small batch of mead at home. (And consider signing up for our Beginning Mead Making Class on Oct 19th!) - Tours of the meadery at 1, 3 and 5 pm. See how it’s done on a bigger scale. - And sample some local NC meads from other mead makers! We’re sharing the love with our NC neighbors and featuring some of their yummy meads too! Come out and join us for a great day all about our favorite drink! (If you are looking for our Mini Renaissance Faire that we used to do on Mead Day, it's now called Mead Fest and will be on Sept 28th!)

There is a designated play area for children in the parking lot across from Pittsboro Roadhouse. Many businesses host their own sales and events.

Volunteer Training for 4th Grade Museum Tours
Historic Chatham County Courthouse 9 Hillsboro St., Pittsboro, NC, United StatesJoin our Fourth Grade Field Trip Volunteer Team! Chatham Historical Museum Volunteers are getting ready to kick off our seventh year of the Fourth Grade Field Trip. Every school year, fourth-grade students from Chatham public, private, and charter schools come to the Historic Chatham County Courthouse to learn about Chatham history, government, and civics. The Field Trips happen on Thursday mornings from 8:30 to noon. It takes 10 volunteers to carry out each Field Trip. Help us share Chatham County history with these young folks! We’ll be training new volunteers and "refreshing" returning volunteers on Thursday, September 5th from 10:30 to noon in the Historic Courthouse at 9 Hillsboro Street, Pittsboro, NC 27312.
