Chatham County Republican Party Convention
The Chatham County Republican Party convention will be March 18 at 08:30 AM in the George Moses Horton School gymnasium. In general, you must be a registered Republican as of January 31, 2023 in order to be a voting delegate at the convention. You must attend the county convention in order to be a voting delegate at the district or state conventions. To register for the Chatham Convention, please go here: https://secure.winred.com/ccgop-ec60b911/convention23. Registration will close on March 16 at noon. There will be no on-site registration: everyone must pre-register.

PBA member Maple View Mobile will be part of the food truck rodeo. Sample some of their delicious ice cream!
Smokehouse Dedication
Chatham County Agriculture & Conference Center 1192 US-64 BUS, Pittsboro, NCJoin the Chatham Historical Museum on Saturday, March 25th at 12:30 pm at the Chatham County Agriculture & Conference Center for the Dedication of the Smokehouse and the 4th Annual Spring Ag Fest. We’ll be sharing some of the structure’s unique history and thanking the many donors who made restoration of the smokehouse possible. You can also visit the smokehouse during our Open House from 10 until 2. We’ll be raffling off ham—so be sure to stop and see us! The Smokehouse was an existing structure on the property scheduled for construction of the Chatham County Agriculture and Conference Center. The Chatham County Historical Association removed the smokehouse from the site and stored it during the construction of the new Ag Center building, then rebuilt it and returned it to the property where it had originally stood so younger generations can be shown how their ancestors lived.

Egg Hunt at Huckleberry Trail Farm

Come and egg-plore the farm Sunday April 2, from 12-4. We will be hosting 4 FREE Easter Egg hunts for all the kiddos and lots of other free activities. We will be taking donations for The Quiltmaker Café, a nonprofit, fast-casual restaurant coming to Pittsboro, offering tasty meals and Free-Will pricing to guests. Their mission is to provide healthy meals to all people, regardless of their ability to pay. Courthouse Reopening 10-year Anniversary
Historic Chatham County Courthouse 9 Hillsboro St., Pittsboro, NC, United StatesThe Chatham County Courthouse burned March 25, 2010. It reopened April 20, 2013, as the Historic Courthouse with the Chatham County Museum. 2023 is the 10th Anniversary of the Historic Courthouse Reopening. Join us to hear Grimsley and Taylor Hobbs, the architects who rebuilt the building, talk about the process of reclaiming and restoring the building after the devastating fire that consumed the interior. After the Program, join us downstairs for light refreshments to Celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the Reopening of the wonderful, restored building and Museum. April 2nd is also First Sunday in downtown Pittsboro so there will be lots to do before and after the Program.

Found It! Chatham Rabbit Hunt Rescheduled
Downtown Pittsboro 9 Hillsboro St, Pittsboro, NC, United StatesPittsboro Gallery of Arts and Welcome Chatham invite you to downtown Pittsboro on Saturday, April 8th from 11:00am-4:00pm to participate in the 3rd Annual Found It! Chatham Rabbit Hunt. The is a fun, free family event that encourages everyone to get outside and explore Pittsboro. Seven embellished rabbit statues will be hidden outside along Hillsboro Street and in the immediate vicinity. Find a rabbit and, without removing it, take a photo of yourself. Once you find at least 5 of the rabbits, show your photos to a Welcome Center attendant to receive a ticket for a chance to win a rabbit. The first 25 visitors to do so will also receive a $10 voucher to be redeemed at one of the participating downtown businesses. In acknowledgment of Pittsboro’s thriving creative culture, the 7 rabbit statues will be embellished by these local artists, including several members of Pittsboro Gallery of Arts: Dawn Hummer Sarah Fishbein Cat Mahin Alissa Van Atta Trudy Thomson Theresa Arico Emma Skurnick Additional raffle tickets to win the custom rabbit statues will be available for $5 each at the Welcome Center. Proceeds of ticket sales will go to Welcome Chatham, a 501(c)3 non-profit agency. This event also includes a StoryBook Walk with pages posted in storefronts along Hillsboro and Salisbury Streets.
