Yoga teachers Chelsea Gardner and Cierra McEachern will lead a discussion around creating more inclusive and welcoming yoga spaces. We'll practice a gently flowing asana and meditation together with Lexie Wolf following the discussion. Friday, February 19, 6-7 pm: Cool, Calm & Collected Join us to experience yogic practices that can help create a calm and present space in our hearts and minds. We'll briefly discuss the benefits & basics, then practice intention setting & affirmations, breathwork, asana practice (the physical postures of yoga) and meditation. Cierra, Chelsea, and Lexie lead. We'll enjoy a peaceful and meditative Friday evening and leave with self-care techniques for our daily lives. Sunday, February 28, 7-8:15 pm: Relax, Relate & Release This is a restorative yoga class themed around healing and unity to wrap up our Black History Month series. We'll begin with a short talk about the conversations we've had and some takeaways from this series. We'll finish by going deeply inward for a peaceful restorative practice. Have pillows & blankets ready. Restorative yoga involves placing the body in very comfortable, supportive postures that will allow for gentle relaxation and releasing of tension in the body. Chatham Marketplace is hiring for a Wellness Grocery Lead position. This is a full-time position and the salary ranges from $12.50 – $17.25 an hour. This is not an entry level position, so skills and experience will be considered when determining a pay rate. All positions start with a 90 day trial period, followed by a 50¢ pay bump after successful completion. Job Description The Wellness Grocery Lead heads organized and smooth running wellness and bulk sections that focus on a wide variety of local, natural and organic foods. They will also assist with opening/ closing responsibilities, which includes cashiering and cash handling. The Wellness Grocery Lead will meet department objectives for sales, margin and customer service satisfaction. They support The Grocery Manager’s goals for all grocery departments through their work by performing other tasks as assigned. The Chatham County Historical Society has big things planned and they'll want your help. Look for balloons on the doors of downtown businesses that are open during the celebration. We'll also have a "find the Chatham Rabbit" contest; take a picture of yourself with a rabbit (hidden around town) and bring it to the Visitor's Center for vouchers. In order to make the most of this special occasion, Chatham County will host several events throughout the course of the year that people of all ages and backgrounds will be able to take part in and enjoy. To kick start the festivities, Founding Day will take place on Saturday, April 10, 2021, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. in downtown Pittsboro. The celebration, which is free and open to the public, will be a drive-thru event featuring nine stations focusing on the county's history and community complete with a birthday party theme. Participants will have the opportunity to learn, share and engage in activities at each station. Community members will be offered items including goody bags, party hats, pi=F1ata raffles and sweet treats to take home and enjoy.
