Saturday, December 21, starting at 2 p.m. The show lasts about 40 minutes. See the trial of the century on Saturday, December 21th at the historic Chatham County Courthouse, where Santa Claus is on trial. Enjoy audience participation, local actors and the real Kris Kringle! Come root for a Miracle on Hillsboro Street! Admission is a $7 donation to benefit the Chatham Arts Council's programs for children. Children four and under get in free. Seating is limited, so advanced ticket purchase is encouraged. Celebration of Light

The Pittsboro Business Association, in partnership with Chatham County residents, invites you to the first Celebration of Lights to celebrate the last night of Chanukah and the week of Kwanzaa. Please join us for this inter-faith, inter-cultural celebration of winter traditions around light on Sunday, December 29th from 4:30-6:00PM on the northwest corner of the courthouse circle, by Pittsboro Toys. The evening will include a Chanukah book reading, a presentation on the history and significance of Kwanzaa, and jelly-filled doughnuts made by our own Phoenix Bakery specially for this celebration. We will end our celebration with a lighting at dusk. We invite everyone attending to bring your Menorah, Kinara, candle or whatever it is that symbolizes the light in your faith tradition or spiritual journey. One Chatham Forum: The Age of Anxiety

The Chatham News + Record and Our Chatham are pleased to announce that the next “One Chatham” forum will focus on teen mental health in Chatham County. The event, scheduled for 7-8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 29, will be a follow-up to the release of “The Age of Anxiety,” the first season of the new podcast “The Chatcast.” Episodes of the 10-part series, which was released on December 13, 2019, have been listened to more than 500 times since release day. The forum will be held in the Holmes Meeting Room at the Chatham Community Library in Pittsboro. Four panelists are already scheduled to attend: • Chatham Charter School sophomore Abigail Holmes, 15, who was featured prominently in the podcast • Wilder Horner, social work supervisor with the Chatham County Department of Social Services • George Greger-Holt, community outreach coordinator of Chatham Drug Free • Tracy Fowler, executive director of student support services with Chatham County Schools Read more about the event..
