Abundance NC presents The Amazing PepperFest, Sunday, Sept 22, 2019 from 3-6 PM! PepperFest is a celebration of sustainable agriculture, local farmers, and the creativity of the Piedmont’s top chefs, brewers and artisans. We close down the streets in downtown Pittsboro and host around 3000 folks who enjoy live music and revelry, learning and discovery – including a kid’s craft and fun zone – while filling up on delicious pepper-themed dishes made with delicious, locally grown sweet, hot and smoky NC peppers. Chefs compete for awards. Foodies taste all the different dishes made from peppers grown in the Piedmont of North Carolina. Children run wild, folks dance, laugh and enjoy the many different creations. A Pepper Queen and King are crowned, local businesses and non profits share their news and we all go home very happy. Join us for a special weekend at Camp Sea Gull for Y Guides Moms Weekend on the Water. The Y Guides program is normally about strengthening father-child relationships through one-on-one experiences. But this weekend, we want moms to check out the fun. Spend time with your kids (first grade and older) participating in camp activities such as canoeing, archery, sailing, powerboating and more. Enjoy meals in the camp dining hall and a Saturday evening campfire and fireworks show. Don't forget to invite your friends! This special Weekend on the Water is hosted by Y Guides, but it's open to any and all moms and their kids.

Celebrate 45 years of carnivore rescue and advocacy with Carolina Tiger Rescue! We are so excited to announce that Carolina Tiger Rescue will be hosting A Southern Supper to celebrate 45 years of saving and protecting wild cats! This community-wide event will be held on Sunday, September 29, 2019 at Forest Hall at Chatham Mills and will feature a traditional southern meal with farm-to-table fare, special musical guests, awesome auction items, and lots of friends and family. Over 200 big cat-lovers, community leaders, and volunteers from our area are expected to attend. We hope that you will attend this celebratory event, see how we have changed over the past 45 years, and see where we are heading. You will not want to miss the exciting announcement we will be making to the community at this event. As you know, Carolina Tiger Rescue has become a significant tourist destination for Chatham County, with 89% of our visitors from outside of Chatham County. This class will begin with 15 minutes of sun salutations to open the body and prepare for a restorative savasana during which Lisa will guide you through a group meditation and sound healing using tuning forks. We all have an electromagnetic field around our bodies which often becomes blocked by old emotions that are stored with the memories of our past experiences. This sound healing modality uses the pure tone of tuning forks to clear the area around the body, allowing the receiver to release old thought patterns and emotions that are not serving them anymore. Receivers of this healing modality often report feeling lighter and more open to receiving love, support, and guidance from those around them, and more connected to the unified field of consciousness that we are all a part of. This is a "Funky Friday" class and is by donation; or use your class pass or membership.
