Basic home mead making class. Learn about how to make a small batch of mead, the equipment needed, and the techniques for ensuring success. Each participant will take home a one-gallon batch of mead to finish at home. Attendees will learn the basics of mead making. You will be taken step by step through the process of making a “cyser” (honey and apple). You will learn how to properly sanitize and what equipment is needed to make a great homemade mead! You will take home your own gallon of mead, made during the class, with instructions on what to do with it when you get home. No mead making experience necessary.

In 2005 he was the Fine Arts recipient of the North Carolina Award, the state's highest civilian honor. Ann Cary Simpson, photographer, served for thirty years at national and North Carolina environmental organizations and as associate dean for development at UNC's School of Government, for which she received the Chancellor's Award. She is now a senior associate with moss + ross consulting.

Featuring Jillian M. Hinderliter, Assistant Professor of Women’s and Gender Studies and Moses M. and Hannah L. Malkin Fellow in Jewish History and Culture.
