Pittsboro First Sunday! – April 5
On the first Sunday of every month from March through December, downtown Pittsboro opens up and has a party! We have dozens of local vendors who make their wares, painting, collage, jewelry, crochet, quilting, wood pieces, chimes, signs, soaps, pottery, hats. Play areas for children. Sales and art events in stores. Live music. Food trucks. 2015 Pittsboro First Sunday Dates Dates through the year: April 5 May 3 June 7 July 5 August 2 September 6 October 4 November 1 December 6 Become a Vendor If you’re a member of the Pittsboro Business Association you can have a table at Pittsboro First Sunday for half off. Santa Claus is Coming to Town – Pittsboro Town
You better watch out, you better not cry You better not pout, I’m telling you why Santa Claus is coming to town! We remember our holiday events all our lives. Our first visits with Santa. Our Christmas gifts. The magic of falling to sleep at night knowing that Santa will be coming to deliver our gifts. Saturday December 13 10 – 1 Santa visits the Country Home and Farm On this visit Santa welcomes 4 legged animals their 2 legged friends! Bring your favorite pet. Boyscouts have a Pancake Breakfast with Santa at the Pittsboro Roadhouse Wednesday December 17 11 am Santa visits Angelina’s Kitchen Santa Claus is coming to Angelina’s Kitchen on Wednesday December 17 at 11 a.m. “Bring your kids to meet Santa and enjoy made from scratch hot chocolate and snacks. Santa deserves to eat right and so do your kids!!” Saturday December 20 10 – 1 Santa visits Country Home and Farm Santa Claus is coming to town again to Country Home and Farm for visits by children of all ages! Santa Claus in coming to Town – Pittsboro – December 2014! Past Santa Events in Pittsboro Saturday December 6, 2014 4 – 5 Santa Claus to appear at the Joyful Jewel Santa Claus will entertain us with a reading, Behind Santa’s Smile, and visit with us. Sunday December 7 3pm – Santa will ride his sleigh into the Town of Pittsboro Christmas Parade From Food Lion on East St. past the Courthouse Circle to the Sherriff’s Office on West St. See Map of Parade Route on Town Website. 3:30pm – Pittsboro Roadhouse Community Christmas Party. Santa Claus will visit with guests in the Pittsboro Roadhouse lounge next to the Christmas Tree. All welcome.

Chatham County Historical Museum
The Chatham County Historical Museum originally opened in the Chatham County Courthouse in 1990. When the Courthouse was damaged by fire in 2010, the museum, though largely undamaged, closed. The Chatham Historical Museum reopened in the newly renovated historic courthouse in 2012. Exhibits within the museum tell the story of Chatham County’s history from the time of Native Americans in this area until today. Personalities who contributed to the diversity and development of the county are highlighted. Volunteers welcome visitors and encourage the preservation and appreciation of our heritage. Fourth graders from all of the county schools have the opportunity to visit the museum and courthouse. The museum is located on the ground floor of the historic Chatham County Courthouse. Maps, colorful posters, historical books and Christmas decoration souvenirs are available for purchase.
